In Swift Blaze of Fire, Clark tells the remarkable tale of her grandfather Robert Hilliard -
Olympic boxer, clergyman, and volunteer in the International Brigades - whose life ended on
the battlefields of 1930s Spain. McWilliams’s Resting Places unearths the violent events that
shattered a community in 1920s West Cork, tracing their echoes through generations.
Together, they’ll discuss the art of weaving family history with archival discovery, and how
political traumas of a century ago still shape the present.
