SARAH DUNANT: The Marchesa
Sat 15th Nov 2025 4.30pm Clifton High School, Rose Theatre

Clever, politically astute, and occasionally overbearing, Isabella d’Este's voice lives on in the 33,000 letters she wrote and received, preserved in Mantua’s archives. In this lavishly illustrated lecture, bestselling author Sarah Dunant reveals how she drew on these letters and other sources to create The Marchesa, blending fiction, biography and art to bring Isabella vividly to life. Discover the flamboyant, influential woman whose taste, intellect and ambition helped shape the Renaissance.
