In this beautifully illustrated talk, Moyle explores how each artist compared herself to the Old Masters, challenging the idea that talent was a male preserve. She reveals their subtle - and sometimes sharp - rivalry with leading male painters of the day, a strategy to claim their place in the cultural pantheon. In reviving their stories, Moyle allows these trailblazing women to speak again, setting the record straight on their rightful place in art history.
