Harriet Baker, named The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year in 2024, will discuss her acclaimed biography Rural Hours: The Country Lives of Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Townsend Warner and Rosamond Lehmann - an illuminating portrait of three remarkable writers and their deep, complex relationships with the countryside.
Joining her is poet, playwright, and lecturer Edson Burton, winner of the 2025 Tinniswood Award for Audio Drama.
Together, they’ll explore writing, place, and how to capture lives on the page.

Tickets are also sold in Clifton Library on Wednesday morning 10.30- 12.30 (card payments can be taken on Wednesday mornings) and then during library opening hours on Thursday (1pm-5pm), Friday (10am-2pm) and Saturday (10-2pm) where we can only accept cash.
