'In Leftovers: a history of food waste and preservation' , she’ll uncover how societies have tackled (or ignored) the problem
of food waste, from lavish medieval feasts to cutting-edge AI-run restaurants. Showing how shared meals challenged Christian-centric narratives during events from the Reformation to colonisation, Eleanor explores the rich and surprising links between food and religion in the early modern world. Known online as @historyeats, she shares daily historical food facts, stories, and art with a large international audience. A familiar voice on TV, podcasts, and radio, Barnett also writes the monthly food history column for BBC History Magazine.
